DIRECTOR OF FINANCE / CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER CITY OF TRENTON. The City of Trenton is accepting applications for the position of Director of Finance / Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.10 et seq. The position responsibilities include all the statutory requirements, as well as, assisting the Business Administrator with the preparation and the oversight of the municipal budget, maintenance of general ledger, bank reconciliations, finance related ordinances and resolutions, accounts payable/receivable, debt management, grants and escrow accounts management, investment/disbursement of funds. The successful candidate should possess strong analytical and communication skills and provide leadership in all financial dealings of the City. Attendance at City Council meetings is required. Prior municipal finance experience in an urban municipality is preferred. Applicants must have graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in financial administration or accounting. Applicants must possess state certification as Certified Municipal Finance Officer ("CMFO"), as issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Local Government Services, or the ability to obtain such certification within two years. Proficiency in Edmunds Software is preferred. Salary is commensurate with experience.
