We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to work remotely on a full-time 37.5-hour per week basis.
Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Finance, the Accounting Specialist performs a variety of accounting duties to maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts. Responsible for grant accounting and reporting. Applying generally accepted accounting principles, prepares journal entries, reconciles all grant accounts, monitors grant revenue, and reconciles balance sheet accounts. Utilizes a computerized accounting system and spreadsheets to post journal entries, research transactions, and compile data for analytical reports. Maintains department files, and provides support for grant reporting, and Department administration.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should have an AA in Accounting or related subjects; BA preferred in accounting, business, economics, math, or finance. Minimum two years’ experience with general ledger postings, reconciliation, and account analysis. Grants accounting and accounting software experience preferred.
