Economic Development Director

The County of Patrick is accepting applications from qualified applicants for the position of Economic Development Director. Duties include, but are not limited to, administering, supervising, and monitoring Patrick County economic development activities and projects, promoting Patrick County as a prime business destination, and encouraging expansion of existing businesses. The ideal candidate will utilize considerable initiative and independent judgement in developing marketing strategies and associated materials and exercise professionalism, courtesy and tact in frequent contact with business representatives, government liaisons and the general public. 

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in economics, business or public administration, or a closely related field, is required. Master's Degree is preferred. Previous local government management and/or professional experience in economic development activities is preferred.

This is a full-time position with benefits that include vacation and sick leave, life and health insurance, and retirement. Hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Overtime and weekend hours may be required. Candidates must submit to a background check and drug screen.
