SVP Commercial Lending
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the President/CEO, the SVP Commercial Lending Manager is responsible for managing and supervising the Bank’s portfolio of commercial real estate and non-real estate lending, with an overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality; to develop new and maintain existing business relationships. This position supervises a team of 2-4 Commercial Lending personnel.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Oversees the responsibility of the Bank’s overall commercial loan portfolio; including growth, profitability and delinquencies (including loan workout and collections.)
- Responsible for the management of the entire commercial lending team.
- Responsible for the commercial loan portfolio credit quality, loan review and FDIC examinations.
- Presents requests to management and loan committee when the proposed loan is beyond departmental lending authority.
- Manages large or complex commercial loans, as needed, and counsels loan customers on loan management and beneficial financial strategies.
- Maintains and enhances information base on local and national economics, as well as other concerns that would impact the financial institution’s lending activities.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Makes recommendations to management on product improvements or changes.
- Oversees and recommends upgrades and improvements to financial institution policies and procedures. Ensures that any changes are implemented.
- Participates as a member of various Bank committees as assigned.
- Represents the Bank and provide leadership in key community activities and committees. Participate in professional associations; attend conventions, conferences and seminars
- Performs related duties as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field and/or 10 years’ experience in commercial lending or similar financial institution.
- Extensive knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication, management, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Proven organizational and public relations skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs. on occasion.
